Inoculant by Crop - TagTeam - Alfalfa/Sweetclover
TagTeam Alfalfa and Sweetclover contains a patented Rhizobia strain (NRG 34) plus our patented phosphate solubilizing organism in JumpStart which creates 1 + 1 = 3 performance.
Alfalfa/Sweetclover production facts
Alfalfa is generally a very high user of phosphate - 10 lbs of phosphate per tonne of hay. Good phosphate nutrition is also important for nodule development and function. However, surface applied phosphorus fertilizer to forage stands is inefficient and often ineffective as it takes a long period of time for the fertilizer to reach the root zone.
The NRG 34 strain of Rhizobia is a highly effective at forming nodules and has a high degree of tolerance for cold and acidic soils.
TagTeam alfalfa/sweetclover is a sterilized self sticking peat based inoculant. Conveniently packaged in 1.08 lb bags that will inoculate 220 lbs of alfalfa or sweetclover seed.
TagTeam Performance
In a test with 16 other Rhizobia strains, including current commercial strains, NRG 34 out performed in all 3 categories measured: number of effective nodules, fresh shoot weight and dry shoot weight.
In field trials, alfalfa inoculated with NRG 34 showed a 16% increase in forage yield over two years and also showed higher levels of nitrogen and protein in the alfalfa, compared to current commercial strains.

When JumpStart (the phosphate solubilizing technology) was applied to alfalfa, forage yield was increase by approximately 10%*. This was in addition to yield benefits from the rhizobia strain.

TagTeam Application
TagTeam alfalfa/sweetclover is available as a pre-sterilized, self-sticking peat. Each 1.08 lb bag will treat 220 lbs of seed. Application with water is recommended at a rate of 1.6 US quarts per bag of TagTeam. Apply TagTeam as a slurry (mixed into water), apply water at the same time as you sprinkle on TagTeam dry or pre-moisten seed prior to application.
