How to Apply & Application RatesHOW TO APPLY Inoculate seed on-farm by adding the contents of one 80 g (2.8 oz) or one 400 g (14 oz) container to the appropriate amount of water prior to or during seeding. For detailed information select a specific crop from the menu on the bottom left of this page. Easy-to-use applicators are available for inoculating seed with JumpStart. JumpStart can also be applied during seeding using on-the-go treaters (refer to the treater manufacturer's manual for application instructions). Applicators used previously for pesticides should be triple rinsed before being used for JumpStart application. To divide the contents of a bottle of JumpStart, first dissolve the entire contents of the bottle in 500 ml (0.5 US quarts) water, mix thoroughly and divide the mixture into smaller quantities as desired. JumpStart in solution must be applied to the seed within 6 hours. JumpStart can be used with all nitrogen-fixing rhizobial inoculants. To mix JumpStart with a liquid inoculant, first dissolve the entire contents of the JumpStart wettable powder bottle in a small amount of the liquid inoculant for easier mixing. Pour the mixture into the remaining liquid Rhizobium inoculant and mix to dissolve. No additional water is required. Canola and mustard seed are also available pre-inoculated with Jumpstart from certified seed processors. JumpStart applied to bare seed should be planted within 15 to 30 days depending on crop. JumpStart can be used with most seed-applied treatments but the planting window may be reduced. For up-to-date pesticide compatibility and bare seed stability information, please contact Philom Bios at 1-888-744-5662.
